Match the Opposites
Ages 4-7
Six words down the left, their six opposites shuffled down the right, and a line to draw between each pair: big and small, hot and cold, up and down, full and empty, happy and sad, day and night.
Every word has a picture beside it, so a child who cannot read all six yet can still do the whole sheet from the elephant and the mouse, the sun and the snowflake, the two arrows. Saying each pair out loud is what the sheet asks for, and it is the part that does the work – opposites are easier to hold onto as a phrase than as two separate words.
Print it at home on letter paper. Free to use at home and in the classroom.
