Ages 5-8
Ten numbered boxes running from 10 to 100, with four of them left blank. The child fills in 20, 40, 60 and 80, using the pattern rather than counting up one at a time.
Skip counting by tens is usually where place value starts to click: every answer keeps the same ones digit and moves the tens digit up by one. Saying the numbers aloud while writing them is what makes the pattern stick, which is why Smarty Cat asks for it on the sheet. The bonus challenge carries the sequence past 100, where the next three are 110, 120 and 130.
