Smarty Cat’s Sight Word Hunt
Ages 5-7
An eight-by-eight letter grid with eight sight words hidden inside: the, and, see, go, play, big, look and can. Words run across and down only, never backwards or diagonally, which keeps it manageable for a child still getting used to scanning a grid.
Most of the words appear in the grid more than once, so there is no single correct circle – finding either copy counts. Saying each word aloud while hunting for it is the part that does the real work here, and the bonus challenge at the bottom asks for the word play used in a sentence.
